This is such a huge deal for the bride. And I have some useful advice for a positive experience, you know we are all about the experience here.
Everyone is so excited and wants to know about it, go see it, help you pick it etc... I would have to point you in the direction of keeping it hush hush. It is after all a reveal! Unless you've been wedding gown shopping prior to you actually being the bride, you are in for possible surprise and new direction. And because this is a crucial decision for you, it must be made in the best circumstances; not under strain, pressure, uncertainty, frustration or the like.

Many of us seek our Mother or Matriarch or even our Bestie for this important mission. She is someone who loves and cares for us and who wants to see us happy. This is a great idea, but not at first. It is advised by yours truly to pull tears of photos, pinterest pages, and any gown you think is amazing FOR YOU and bring it to your visit, but to go ALONE. (WEDDING PLANNER OKAY).
Going alone may seem scary, but this is in order for you to be honest with yourself and not allow anyone to distract your opinion. You take a good look at how these styles work on you and how beautiful you feel in them. This visit is to better understand what gown will work. You are not allowed to purchase anything!!!!!
Now that you have had your induction... Call mom, call up the BFF and go to the high end salon where you will be treated excellently! Enjoy your experience and try on many options. These Salons want to sell you, but they have experience so you can trust their suggestions enough to allow yourself a variety of options.
ITS PRETTY OBVIOUS WHEN THE MAGIC HAPPENS. You know, mom knows, even the Salon Associate has an idea. This is usually not the hard part. Its just getting to this point that can be a nightmare. I want you to have pleasant dreams, no nightmares darlings!
